The therapeutic use of sound falls into a category called energy medicine. It can also be called sound medicine, vibrational medicine, sound therapy, sound healing, frequency medicine, integrative medicine, or even alternative medicine. Sound accesses the body in a different way than traditional medicine, and has yet to be fully studied and understood. The phenomenon of Cymatics has been studied scientifically. It is the study of sound and vibration made visible through a medium such as water in a dish or a flat metal plate with salt, combined with a speaker below. As the speaker changes frequency, complex geometric patterns emerge and change. It is believed sound/vibration hold the power to bring balance to the body.
