-2 Cups of clean epsom salt. Try to avoid fragrance or fillers when using this form of magnesium as a detox bath.
-1-2 Cups of Baking Soda
-1/4 to 1/2 Cup of Aztec Secret healing clay (Bentonite Clay). (I have also used some dead sea salt in place of this in a pinch, or in place of some of the epsom salt)
-*optional* up to 1 cup of clean borax.
Get the bath as hot as you can stand, add the minerals and soak for at least 25 minutes. You can use a washcloth and scrub your arms and legs. Shower and wash off well with clean soap.
Our skin is amazing... It acts as a barrier, protecting us. And it absorbs. It releases toxins. It breathes. So be careful what you are putting on the skin because it can inhibit its ability to 'breathe' and throw off waste. The body wants to find a balance in all things. Your skin is no exception.
I use a general oil combo that replaces my lotion and face cream. I make it in an old glass 30ml/ 2 oz bottle. First, I fill with 1 tsp of jojoba oil, 1 tsp castor oil, sweet almond oil to about the halfway mark, then 1 tsp Rose Hip Oil and some rose and geranium essential oils. Or sometimes I use some argon or yarrow oil to fill the bottle to the top.If I have some rose petals or calendula petals, I will throw those in there sometimes as well. Shake it up before use, and it lasts me about three weeks. I like to put it on while my skin is still moist after a shower, and trap in the moisture. Or just after I wash my hands. It is a really awesome lotion replacement in the winter time. My kids & hubby use it, too.
Once a week for the first two or three weeks of my detox, I would drink 1L of distilled water mixed with 1 tsp of clean baking soda and 1 tsp of Celtic Sea Salt. I divided it into four doses and drank one dose every two hours until it was gone, stirring each time. Again, once a week. And not on a bath day. I made Sunday my bath days, and I drank my 1L on Wednesdays.
***(Important- the day after a detox bath, it is important to remineralize. Sometime shortly after you wake up, the morning after, take a few salt crystals of Celtic Sea Salt and rub them around on your tongue. Swallow and follow with about 6 oz of water. I do not cook with the salt. I am currently using some Himalayan pink salt for fooding. I use the Celtic salt as a 'vitamin'.)
The main idea with any detox: the body is a bad a#@ at being in balance and kicking out what doesn't serve it... and so less is more. Less chemicals on the skin. In the air. What are we cleaning with? Washing with? Wearing? How can I implement a change in my environment that is going to directly affect my body and allow it more time/energy to do what it knows how to do? Simple.
